FT. BLACKMORE, VA - Annie Lou Gibson, 77, Ft. Blackmore, VA, passed away, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Annie was born on December 11, 1946, in Scott County, VA, to the late Johnny Lloyd Lane, and Margaret (Baldwin) Lane.
Annie was a member of Alley Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her sons, Michael Hunley, Ricky Hunley; sisters, Birdie McCracken, Claire McConnell, Gladys Darnell, Faye Darnell, and Millie Lane; brothers, Emmitt Lane and George Lane; and granddaughter, Angel Woods preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 31 years, Kyle E. Gibson; daughters, Rita Woods, and Tammie Gibson; sons, Junior Lee Hunley, Teddy Hunley, Kyle Gibson, Jr. (Jack), Stacy Gibson; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many special church friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. George Gibson and Pastor Jim Gibson officiating. Dr. Todd Cassel will provide the eulogy, Tim and April Baldwin will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Gibson Cemetery, Alley Valley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.
