NICKELSVILLE, VA - With deep sadness and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Carrie Ruth Fields, affectionately known as "Shady" and to her siblings as "Shady Lady on Ponderosa Road." She left this world peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded in spirit by the family and love that defined her life.

Ruth was a sweetheart. I spent many nights growing up at her house with Amy. I saw her from time to time and she always had a smile on her face. In the past few nights I got to see her almost daily at Nova while I was visiting my mom. Im sure there is a grand reunion going on in heaven. Prayers for all the family.
