Donald M. Dingus February 20, 1941 - August 13, 2024
KINGSPORT - Donald M. Dingus, 83, of Kingsport, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born February 20, 1941, in Big Stone Gap, VA, to the late Dewey and Stella Dingus. Don retired from Kingsport Press after 41 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Don attended Heritage First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jared Dingus; wife, Patty Dingus; brothers, James, Roy, and John; and sisters, Rosella, Betty, Marie, Ruby, and Royce.
Don is survived by his daughter, Trinity Dingus; grandson, Jacob Dingus; brother, Dannie Dingus (Leta); special friend, Carolyn Gilliam and her daughters, Kim and Angie; sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Dingus; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating, and military rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.
