GATE CITY, VA - Donald E. Wright, age 87 of Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord while in the comfort of his own home on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
He was born in Scott County, VA on January 26, 1936 to the late Mr. Pete Wright and Ethel Parker Wright. Donald attended Roadside Baptist Mission Church. He worked for Palace Vending for 23 years and Paty Lumber for 15 years.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Wright; sister, Kathy Greer (Bert); special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wanda and David Warren; niece, Heather Wertz (Samuel); 2 nephews, Michael Warren (Angie) and Cody Warren; special friends Donald and Nancy Harris.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Charles F. Kilbourne.
Music will be provided by Chris Holder.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Pallbearers will be David Warren, Samuel Wertz, Ronnie Templeton, Mike Carter, Jimmy Powers and Jeff Vaughn.
