Esther LaFerney Obituary
September 2, 2025
KINGSPORT - Esther Jean LaFerney, 90, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Brookdale, Colonial Heights.
A full obituary will be posted later.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 15, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Heritage First Church of God, 470 Rock Springs Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating.
Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 pm in Christus Garden at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Brookdale, Colonial Heights, for their exceptional care of our mother.

Carol/Donna/David/Don Jr. Our deepest sympathies in the loss of your mother. Aunt Jean was a strong woman; when around her, one quickly realized in whom she placed her faith, hope, and trust. She is fully perfected now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her earthly partner. May God bless each of you with wonderful memories in the days/years ahead which bring a smile to your face and warm your heart and soul.

Jean was like a second Mom to me. David and Don Jr, we´re kids I hung out with many times as a kid. The LaFerneys were one of the church families that watched over me. The church families stuck together, cooked and ate together, had church bazaars together and could correct you if you did wrong, just like your own family. Donna, Carol, David and Don Jr, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a great and strong woman, the likes which we rarely see these days. I´m sure God has already told her how proud He is of her.
