FALL BRANCH - Jean Pinson of Fall Branch passed away January 18, 2025. She retired from the Kingsport Press, was a graduate of Fall Branch High School, and a longtime member of Fall Branch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son Donnie Pinson; her parents, Clifford and Susie Brumley; her brothers and sisters, Howard "Tip" Brumley, Ruby Light, Bobby Brumley, Jack Brumley, Eula Jackson, and Mildred Bruner.

Jean is survived by her husband, Troy Pinson, of 58 years; daughter-in-law, Donna Pinson; special daughter, Kathy Brumley Hood (GH); brother, Jerry Brumley; sister, Helen Hammonds; granddaughter, Chelsea Byington (Brandon); her pride and joy, great-granddaughter, Rhealyn Mae Byington; as well as, several other close nieces and nephews and many dear friends and their neighbors who are like family, Helen and Larry Hensley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday January 21, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Newman officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Fall Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Newman officiating on Thursday January 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will include Scott Simpson, Dylan Simpson, Brandon Byington, Tyler Stanley, Chris Depew, Scott White, and Larry Hensley.

A special thank you to all of the Amedisys hospice team and her nurse DaShae that went above and beyond with each visit.
