FALL BRANCH - Jonathan Scott McClellan, age 63, passed away January 18, 2026, at his home in Fall Branch after an extended illness. Scott was born on December 11, 1962, in
Kingsport, Tn. to his parents John S. McClellan and Wilma Flanary McClellan, both preceding him in death. He was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Geneva McClellan. Scott was a graduate of Sullivan South High School and attended East Tennessee State University.
Scott was a Christian and attended Fall Branch United Methodist Church most of his life. The last several years, Scott and his friend Peggy Honaker enjoyed visiting a different Church each Sunday and looked forward to the worship and fellowship with old and new acquaintances. But Scott always considered Fall Branch Methodist his home Church.
Scott was a farmer and large equipment operator. He loved raising cattle and working outdoors. Scott worked at Bristol Compressors for several years early in his adult life and then owned and operated his own backhoe and excavating business. Most recently he worked for Long Construction driving a dump truck. He loved working there and made many very dear and special friends. He had to retire early due to declining health.
Scott was an old car enthusiast and collector of anything old. He looked forward to going to car shows, especially a large one in Indiana. He loved his old cars and was always on the lookout for the next one. He made many friends through his passion for old vehicles. Scott was a member and past president of the Fall Branch Car Club.
Scott was a lover of all kinds of music. He and friends attended many music festivals, events, and concerts over the years. He loved to introduce people to the music and performances at The Carter Fold. If they had not had the experience, he wanted them to go at least once.
Scott loved meeting up with friends at Café 93 where the staff there were the best to take good care of him. He also enjoyed the fellowship of friends at the Oak Glen Fish Fry each month.
Scott was a loving and caring man who would do anything for anyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought much joy and happiness into so many lives. Scott was such a strong individual. He never grumbled or complained no matter how badly he was feeling. He would always say, "I'm alright."
Scott is survived by his very special friend and love of his life, Peggy Honaker,
Kingsport, Tennessee. He said she was the best thing that ever happened to him. He is also survived by his sister Jane Booher,
Knoxville, Tn., formerly from Fall Branch, a niece, Laura Russell Harper (Larry), Knoxville, a special great nephew, Seth Harper, Knoxville, one son, Michael Reynolds (Amber), Scott County, Va. and three grandsons, Mason, Landon, and Levi Reynolds.
