John holds a dear place in my heart for all the things he taught me about the great outdoors. The inspiration he gave me about hunting big game has driven me to go many places over the years. I will always cherish the memories of the stories he told. Rest is peace John

Just now reading that John has passed away brought tears to my eyes and they are still streaming down my face. I met John after leaving NJ to settle down with my new husband, who was from Nickelsville, way back in '66. We lived in Snowflake 24 years, raising 3 daughters. All my daughters thought the world of John, as I did. John would help you in any way he could in selling you his goods. After putting what you needed up on the counter, he would always say..."and what else?"...We all loved him and will cherish the memories of his sweet ways with his customers. My relatives in NJ loved to receive a letter from me stamped SNOWFLAKE VA...it was a very special place and time for us. God bless Jackie and the ones mourning his passing. He was the best in our eyes!
