FALL BRANCH - Linda S Covington, 74, of Fall Branch, went to be with Lord on September 22, 2023, peacefully at home after an extended illness. Born in Knoxville and married to Gordon in March of 1969, Linda always did everything to care for and support her family and loved ones. She held a passion for birds and flowers with the ability to make anything grow. Her big smile was infectious to all those around her. Linda was the beloved second mom to many of her children's friends and loved each one as if they were her own. We have all been very blessed for our relationship with Linda, and Heaven is lucky to have her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Connie Hammock; sister, Patricia Hammock; and mother and father-in-law, David Earl and Geneva Covington.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 54 years, Gordon C. Covington; son, Kevin and wife Midge; daughter, Angie Tate and husband Bradley; grandchildren Takoda, David, Josh and Perry Tate; brother, Michael Hammock and wife Indria; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to friends and neighbors, Karen and Harold Riddle.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Covington officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fall Branch Fire Department, 106 Ruritan Rd, Fall Branch, TN 37656.
