Margie Ann Charles, 73, went home to be with her Savior on April 18, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her husband and daughter. She was born on January 20, 1953, to Willie and Ruth Fields. Margie was saved at a young age and was a faithful member of Long Hollow Primitive Baptist Church.

On June 22, 1974, she married the love of her life, Woodroe Charles, and they shared 51 wonderful years together. They raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Jamie, on their farm in Stanley Valley. Margie loved being outdoors-whether working on the farm, mowing the yard, or tending to her garden. She was also a wonderful cook, and her yellow cake with caramel icing will be remembered for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Nicole Miller; her parents, Willie and Ruth Fields; four brothers, Dub Fields, Fred Fields, John Fields, and Lynn Fields; and four sisters, Sue Laster, Louise Fields, Dorothy Fields, and Gladys Thacker.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Woodroe Charles; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brad Loggans; son-in-law, Jamie Lee Miller; grandchildren, Makenna Dalton, Bryleigh Dalton, Andy Miller, Grayson Loggans, and Kendyl Loggans; sisters-in-law, Linda Fields, Brenda Fields, Kay Fields, Judy (Roger) Bowery, and Ann Charles; brother-in-law, Raymond Laster; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; friends who were always up for an adventure, Linda Buell, Donna Gilbert, Molly Davis, and Mary Sizemore; friends who became family, Pat, Rhonda, and Payton Justice; and many other special friends and loved ones.

The family extends a special thank you to Margie's niece, Amanda Bradley, for the loving care she provided in her final days.

Visitation hours will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm with Rev. David Roller, Rev. Ken Christian, and Rev. Mark Weems officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Horne Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to follow in the funeral procession is asked to meet at Christian-Sells Funeral Home by 12:00 pm Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Horne Cemetery.
