Mike Draine Obituary
July 14, 1960 -
CHURCH HILL - Mike A. Draine, age 65, of Church Hill passed away peacefully at Holston Valley Medical Center with his family by his side. Mike was born in Kingsport, TN on July 14, 1960, to Rex and Dorothy Draine. He retired from S&ME Inc. and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and farming. Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to the beach with his family. He was an avid University of Tennessee fan and loved watching all of the games. Mike shared his love of sports by coaching his kids and many others through the years. Mike never met a stranger and was always full of laughter.
In addition to his parents Mike is preceded in death by his stepmother Jo Draine and sister Teresa Kiser.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 years Penny Draine; daughter Mackenzie Draine; son Michael Draine; grandchildren Tinsley Kate, Rex Anthony, Jovie Love; sister Carolyn (Daniel) Clark; brothers Greg (Jan) Draine and Robin (Tiffany) Draine; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation of family and friends will be held at Carter-Trent Funeral Home – Church Hill on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow with Pastor Bud Beverly officiating.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home – Church Hill is serving the Draine family.

Doug and I met Mike through Mackenzie and softball. He always had a smile and warmth about him each time we saw him. Heaven gained a great man. Prayers for all the family!!!

Knowing that Mike won´t be around is still such a hard concept to grasp. I am going to miss hearing his laugh and seeing his smile. His hugs were such a grand gesture of the love he had for you. I pray that you know how much we loved you Mike.
