OTIS DeBord

September 22, 2025

KINGSPORT - Otis DeBord, 84, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Hancock County and raised in Kingsport where he graduated from Sullivan High School in 1960. Following his graduation, Otis served a short stint in the Army and returned to Kingsport where he married the love of his life in November of 1965. He worked and retired from Eastman Chemical Company after a 31-year career as an Operator. Otis loved sports, specifically the Atlanta Braves. He often kept himself busy working outside, keeping up his yard.

Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Cleo Minor DeBord. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Joyce Morgan DeBord; children, Robby (Stacy) DeBord and Darren DeBord; granddaughter, Danica DeBord and his brother, Dayton (Anne) DeBord.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in the Garden of Devotion, located at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2630 Highway 75, Blountville, Tennessee.
