KINGSPORT - Peggy Manning Bond, age 87, died on Monday, January 29, 2024 at her home in Kingsport.
A native of Drew, MS, she was born August 7, 1936, the daughter of Reese W. and Anne M. Manning. Following graduation from Mississippi State College for Women in 1958, she moved to Kingsport and in January 1960, married the late William B. Bond.
Mrs. Bond retired in 1995, after 15 years as secretary for First Christian Church. She was active in church and volunteer service since retirement. She was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Bond; brother, Reese Manning; and sister, Margaret Walker
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bond Cleek of Brunswick, OH; grandson, Taylor Cleek of Canton, OH; brother, Mike Manning of Madison, MS; sister-in-law, Joan Manning of Drew, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special gratitude to Ann Klepper and Jo Meade, our angels here on earth.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 1:00-2:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Minister Chris Brown officiating.
As requested, her cremains will be returned to the family home in Mississippi.

My friendship with Peggy was special! We shared times of laughter and times of sadness. We have not been together so much over the past few years, but we could always pick up where we left off. You were a very special lady, Peggy Bond!
