KINGSPORT - Richard Lambert, 82, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. While our hearts grieve, we also have joy and hope in Christ, knowing that Richard is now perfectly healed and in the presence of the Lord. He was born in Kingsport and raised in Blountville, where he attended and graduated from Blountville High School in 1961. Richard received a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech and a master's degree from University of Tennessee. He taught at Rogersville High School and Walters State Community College. Following his time teaching, Richard assumed the family business, Kingsport Office Supply. He owned and operated the business for 30 years prior to passing it along to the next generation. He enjoyed working with his hands, spending time with his grandchildren, and especially loved living on the lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Margaret Lambert.
Richard is survived by his children, Chris Lambert (Rebekah), John Demuth (Katie), and Holly Demuth; grandchildren, Brody, Chloé, Shelby, John Christopher, Orion, Taegan and Claire; brother, Russell Lambert; sister, Marcia Cooper; brother, Mark Lambert (Judy); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend Carolyn Solmon.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at noon.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to woundedwarriorproject.org.
