GATE CITY, VA –– Sarah Betty Sturgill, 85 of Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was born in Scott County to the late Charlie and Lovely Stanley Hill. Betty was a retired seamstress at Cumberland Glove. She loved her pet cats. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by son, James Rogers; sisters, Ethel Hill, Kathleen Hill and Ella Mae Hill; brothers J.P. Hill and L.D. Hill.
Betty is survived by her husband Curtis "Junior" Sturgill; daughter, Linda Rogers; grandchildren, Shannon Kerns (Kayla), Valerie Falin, Tracy Rogers, Michelle Scalf and Angela Bishop (Paul); 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Jean Carter and Rose Lee Qualls; brothers, Charles "Junior" Hill and Billy Gene Hill (Nellie); several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home at 1:00 PM.
