CHURCH HILL – Sue Berry Helton, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Sue was born on December 4, 1942, in Virginia to her parents John Henry and Nannie Kate (Carter) Berry. She was a member at Upper Room Baptist Church in Church Hill. Sue was an accountant at Eastman Chemical Company and retired after 36 years of service. After her retirement she spent 11 years at the county clerk's office.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Sue was preceded in death by her sisters, Audrey Richardson, Nadine Ball, and Eula Lee Berry; and her brothers, John Henry Berry, Jr., and Ralph Berry.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Helton of the home; son, Terry Helton of Church Hill; brother, Jullian Berry of Florida; special niece, Sherron Berry of Knoxville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Miller Cemetery in Rogersville with Bro. David Gardner officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 PM to go in procession. Music will be provided by David and Debbie Gardner.

I've been asking about her and just learned of her passing. I've never met a sweeter lady. She and her sister coming in to get haircuts was one of my joys of the day. With every word she spoke, I listened with both ears. She was teaching me how to grow vegetables. There was so much knowledge in this lady, and she taught me a lot. I'll miss this dear lady a lot. Your lesson and advice, Miss Sue, will be greatly missed. Fly high, Miss Sue. you will be missed dearly by me-Sue Conant, hairdresser.

So very sorry to lose this sweet lady. I first met Sue at Eastman and always enjoyed talking with her over the years.. She was always happy to help. Then in later years, always happy to see and talk with her at tag renewal time.
