ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - Barbara Carter Anderson, 83, passed away on February 10, 2023 in St. Augustine, FL. She was born on April 19, 1939 in Tazewell County, VA. and resided for most of her life in Kingsport, TN.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James B. Anderson. Both Barbara and Jim devoted their lives to caring for their surviving daughter Kathy Anderson who was born with spina bifida in 1960. Their deep faith, determination and strength of character ensured that Kathy achieved the best life had to offer.
Barbara deeply loved her two surviving grandchildren, Kelsie Schiavone and James Schiavone, and found great joy in spending time with them and dispensing her particular brand of unvarnished life advice. Barbara is also survived by daughter Debra (Robert) Schiavone. Two sisters, Ora (Robert) Graham and Wanda (Robert) Aitcheson. Two brothers, Norman Carter and Donald Carter, preceded her in death. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who can take comfort that she is now rejoicing with her Lord in Heaven.
