Ira Lee Andies Jr. passed from this world and into the Kingdom of Heaven, surrounded by his family on Good Friday, April 3, 2026 after years of declining health. Ira was employed at Eastman until 2012 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He was a Christian and had publicly professed his belief in our Risen Savior.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Lee Andies Sr. and mother, Una Carver Andies.
Ira is survived by his sons, Chris Andies (Rachel) of Surgoinsville and Kevin Andies of Rogersville; grandchildren, Becca Andies, Erika Nichols (Dylan), of Bristol, Grayson Christopher Andies, Noah Benjamin Andies, Camden Joseph Andies; caregiver and mother of his children, Rita Andies of Rogersville; brothers, Keith Andies (Donna), and Greg Andies, of Rogersville; sister, Patricia Talkington, of Bridgeport, Alabama; nieces, Debbie Talley and Kellie Talley; nephews, Brian Andies, David Andies, Dustin Andies; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, April 7th at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will begin at 7pm with Rev. Donnie Anderson officiating. Burial will take place at 11am on Wednesday, April 8th at Choptack Cemetery. If you would like to follow in procession, please meet at the funeral home by 10am.
