KINGSPORT - Noah "Martin" Cain, JR, age 82, of
Kingsport, TN passed away peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Martin was born July 24, 1941 in Edison, TN (Hawkins Co.) a son of the late Noah Martin (SR) and Rosa Parker Cain. They moved to Sullivan County in 1943. Martin began working for Cain Brothers Construction and eventually went to work for the Kingsport Press and later retired from what became known as Quebecor after 41 plus years. He coached his sons T-Ball team and was a member of the Bloomingdale Optimist club during the 70's. After his retirement, he helped his wife, Patsy with the flea market and enjoyed going with her and walking regularly at the Ft. Henry Mall as long as his health allowed. He loved to fish with his son and friends. He was a was a loyal UT fan, especially football and men's and woman's basketball, watching the races on tv and attending in person in his younger years.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents, and brother and sister in law; Harold Ray and wife Rose (Bolton) Cain. Sister and brother in law; Helen Cain Ragsdale and husband Edward (T-Model). He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is also preceded in death by his father and mother in law; Carl Earl and Ona Benton Franklin.
Those left to cherish wonderful memories include his loving wife of 62 years and 8 months; Patsy Darleen (Franklin) Cain. His beloved son; David Martin Cain of Kingsport TN. His grandson, whom he loved and was so proud of; Adam Joshua (AJ) Cain of Blountville. TN. Special nieces; Betty (Ragsdale) Franklin and Connie (Ragsdale) Church and husband Davis, who where always there to help when needed. Special Nephew Anthony Ray Cain and wife Kay (Dykes) Cain. 2 remaining special cousins whom he thought alot of: Clarence and Helen (Brown) Strickler and Charslie (Strickler) husband Tommy Poore.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Smokey Mountain Hospice and Theresa Gilliam for the care and concern shown over Martin.
The family will recieve friends Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 12 noon until 2pm at the Emory United Methodist Church, 425 Emory Church Road,
Kingsport, TN. A brief Celebration of his life will follow. Martin will be laid to rest with other family members gone on before him in the church cemetery,
