Bonnie Beatrice (Wilson) Cross

Bonnie Cross, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hockaday Wilson. Bonnie was a graduate of Holston High School and Whitney School of Business. She worked for The Martin Company in Baltimore, MD during WWII in the business office where they refurbished planes for the war efforts, then for Continental Airlines in Denver, CO; and later retired from the Raytheon Company in Bristol, TN. Bonnie enjoyed traveling and went on numerous bus tours throughout the US. She was a life-time member of Bethel Church in Blountville, TN.

Ms. Cross was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W. H, "Shorty" Cross; 2 sisters, Edna Doran and Hazel Cunningham; 4 brothers, Lester Wilson, Marvin Winebarger, Chester Wilson and Jack Wilson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diane Smith and Betty Sells (Tommy); her son, Gene Moody; 7 grandchildren, Heather Moody, Brian Moody, Lance Moody, Jeff Smith, Tanya Dickenson (Darby), Tosha Martin (Derek) and Tommy Sells, II (Hope); 13 great-grandchildren, Devyn Moody, Bryson Moody, Cavyn Moody, Lane Moody, Gabe Smith, Grayson Smith, Corbin Dickenson, Cannon Dickenson, Derek Martin, Tatum Martin, Azlee Rutherford, Trey Sells and Addison Sells; and, several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in the Garden of Devotion at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy. 75, Blountville, TN. The service will be officiated by Dr. Alan Gorrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Church, 2116 Shipley Ferry Road, Blountville, TN 37617 or toward the care of Bethel Community Cemetery at the same address.
