KINGSPORT - Charles Donald "Don" Taylor, age 72 of Kingsport, and raised in Scott, County, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Don was born on December 24, 1951, in Kingsport, TN to Charles Henry and Eula Faye Taylor. On December 28, 1973, Don married Rosella Owens and after 50 years of a beautiful life together, she survives.
Don retired from Eastman after 37 years of dedicated service. Don enjoyed farming and spending time with his family; especially his two granddaughters.
Don was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rosella Owens Taylor; daughter, Nastassia Taylor; son, Eric Taylor and wife Oluchi; two granddaughters, Mila and Everleigh; two sisters, Cathy Depew and husband Ken, and Judy Pippin; two brothers, Gary Taylor and wife Sherry, and Steve Taylor; aunt, Ivanell McCracken; cousin, Rhonda McCracken; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Roger Vineyard officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery. Don's family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm.
