BLOUNTVILLE - Donald Edward Miller, age 86, of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Edward Miller and Lillian Curnayan Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Joyce McHenry Miller; one grandson, Joshua Miller; and one bonus son-in-law, Eddy Hamilton.
Donald graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his Bachelors and Master's degrees in Education from the University of Cincinnati, and his Doctorate from USC. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Bristol, TN where he was a member of the Loyal Bereans Sunday School Class. He had worked in the Northwest School District where he was an Assistant Principal at Colerain High School, in charge of the Vocational Education Program. He worked at Cincinnati Tech and the Association of American Railroads. He loved to travel, having made 65 cruises and visited 7 continents since he retired in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Eva Louis "Wilson" Hill; three children, Vicki Miller Otten and husband Brad, of Cincinnati, OH, Donald Lee Miller and wife Linda, of Laverne, CA, and Gregg Miller and wife Missy, of Edgewood, KY; his bonus daughter, Debbie Hill Hamilton, of Kingsport, TN; six grandsons; one granddaughter; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Jay Miller, of Florida; and his fur baby, Charlotte.
Committal Service and Inurnment will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Arlington Memorial Gardens, in Cincinnati, Ohio with Minister Dwight Shaffer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Central Christian Church, 424 Melrose Street, Bristol, TN 37620.
