KINGSPORT - Mary L. Vanzant, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center,
She was born July 16, 1936, in McRoberts, KY to the late Herbert and Ruby Helton Lawson.
Mary was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
She was a committed Christian and attended Higher Ground Baptist Church and Grace Point Fellowship.
Mary worked in the banking industry for several years and earlier worked in sales at Nettie Lee in Kingsport.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Vanzant; brothers, Paul Lawson and Tommy Lawson.
Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Sharon and Rick Soldin, Brenda and Richard Foxx, Janet Rodriguez and Greg Tunnell, and Denise Vanzant; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her loving dog, Bernie.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.
Graveside Service will be conducted Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lee Memorial Gardens, Woodway, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
