William Bellamy Obituary

William (Bill) Lee Bellamy

August 17, 1936 -

January 9, 2025

Bill passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at home after a period of declining health.

He was born August 17, 1936, in Scott County, VA, the son of the late William E. and Edna D. Bellamy.

Bill graduated from Cleveland High School in Yuma, VA and spent most of his career in the auto parts industry. Later, he had an auto restoration and repair shop.

He was a long-time member of Gray United Methodist Church and faithfully attended while his health permitted. Bill enjoyed socializing with his friends at church.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Eachen and husband, Bill; and brothers-in-law, Bob Killen and David Brumit.

Those left to cherish Bill's memory include his loving wife of sixty-four years, Ann; sister, Margaret Killen and her children, Tony, Susan, Pam, and Steve; Betty's daughter, LeAnn and her sons, Andrew and Landon; and Ann's siblings, Lynn and Rita Taylor, Kay Brumit, Kent and Faye Taylor, Jo and David Baker, and Mark and Charlotte Taylor.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2025, 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Aaron Atchley and Pastor Karl Berndt officiating. Music will be provided by Rachel and Brian Cinnamon.

Due to cold weather and mobility issues, there will be no public graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's memory can be made to Gray United Methodist Church, PO Box 8068, Gray, TN 37615, or to the charity of your choice.

Bill was one the most giving and generous men I have had the privilege of knowing. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and we often talked about our service to our country. He was a very good mechanic and could repair just about anything you bought to him. Outside of Church, he restored my son Rusty´s first car, a 1965 Mustang. That´s when we became good "Ford" buddies frequently exchanging hats, models, and military pins. Even when his health started to decline, he was very faithful to his Church. Always smiling and shaking hands with everyone. He will always be in my heart and will continue to be an inspiration to me. Dianne and I will miss him dearly and our hearts go out to Ann and pray for her in her loss.
